To be responsible for the credit controlling section within the Finance Department.

We are seeking a determined, thorough, and organized Credit Controller to oversee the credit section within the Finance Offices at the AG Group. This vacancy is for a full-time post.

Main Duties

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the job incumbent will be mainly required to the following:

• Evaluating new credit requests whilst conducting client credit checks.
• Managing and collecting debts from company debtors.
• Setting up the terms of credit for new clients when necessary.
• Managing the collection of all payments and debts.
• Responding to client inquiries.
• Processing of invoices.
• Preparing statements and reports for the company accountant.
• Managing the sales ledger.
• Liaising with customers, operations and the sales team.
• Negotiating payment plans and setting up terms and conditions.
• Ensuring customers pay on time and charge them for overdue invoices.
• Starting legal proceedings if clients do not pay their debts on time.
• Liaising with Lawyers.
• Maintaining accurate records.
• Implementing changes in the company’s credit control system if and when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or mathematic would be considered as an asset.
• Previous work experience as a credit controller.
• Good understanding of the legal complexities of loans, payment plans, and interest rate will be highly considered.
• Proficient in Accounting and Office software.
• Ability to reconcile complex debtors’ accounts.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to deal with problematic clients.

•           Computer literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office applications

•           Must be assertive and persistent in his/her line of duty

•           Strong negotiation and effective communication skills

•           Aptitude in decision-making, working with numbers and analysing data
